Edenton Guided Walking Tour - Do
plan to take the walking tour, which begins each day at
the Visitors Center - just one block south of the Inn on
Broad Street. The tour takes approximately two hours, and
is well worth the time. The guides are very personable
and knowledgeable.

magnificent views of Edenton is by boat! Our guide can take up
to 5 people by boat through Pembroke Creek, Salmon Creek, Cherry Point
and through Edenton Bay. Please let us know prior to your
arrival so that we can make the arrangements.

Canoeing on Merchants Mill Pond
- Rent a canoe, and spend the afternoon on the water.
Glide through the water under the trees festooned with
Spanish Moss. You're sure to see plenty of wildlife -
deer, blue heron, osprey.
Bike Riding -
You can rent bicycles in town for the day - or for your
entire stay. Edenton is a wonderful place to bike because
of its flat terrain. The Innkeeper can give you some
suggestions on where to ride.

large swimming pool at Mount Auburn, their private home
on the Yeopim River. The Innkeeper will be glad to give

Historic Sites Nearby:
Hope Plantation -
Located in Windsor, N.C. We believe Hope Plantation is
the finest restoration and refurnishing of a major home
between the James River Plantations and Charleston, S.C.
It is about a thirty minute drive from Edenton.
Somerset Place - This
is the other major museum plantation to visit while you
are in this area. It is located on the other side of the
Albemarle Sound, just south of the town of Creswell. This
is the place where "Homecoming", the reunion of
the decedents of slaves of Somerset took place several
years ago. It is a fascinating place to visit and will
give you a real understanding of life on a southern
plantation.
Beaches:
Day trips to
the Outer Banks are easy from Edenton- only approximately
an hour and twenty minutes away. Once you are at the
Outer Banks, there are several beaches to see. You can go
south to Cape Hatteras, or North to Kitty Hawk, Duck and
Corolla. Be sure to visit The Wright Brothers Memorial.
The Innkeeper can give you directions, and recommend a
