Chef Kevin is a native of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and has a degree in Culinary Technology from Asheville-Buncome Technical Community College, where he studied under Chefs Robert Werth and Sheila Tillman. He then interned at the Fearrington House Restaurant in Pittsboro, North Carolina, which is the only Five Star and Three Diamond award winning restaurant in the state. Kevin interned under Executive Chef Cory Mattson, for nine weeks before being offered a full-time position as assistant chef. Kevin jumped at this position, knowing it was the chance of a lifetime. Over the next two years, Kevin worked through the various stations of the kitchen from appetizers to desserts, and began to master his art. In February, 1993 Kevin heard that The Lords Proprietors' Inn was starting a restaurant, and was looking for a full-time chef. After an impressive interview, Arch and Jane Edwards hired Kevin on the spot, and he has been with us ever since. In the meantime, he married a native of Edenton, and they now have two young sons. In the past ten years, Kevin's cuisine has evolved considerably. His menu is an ingredient driven seasonal menu. Variations in ingredients vary to reflect the freshest vegetables, seafood, meat and fruits available. We have provided some sample menus for you to get a feel for his exceptional cuisine. |
